Rolling The Blank

Next we roll the rest of the pattern around the mandrel. This is done on a rolling table. What you see in the photo is the graphite and mandrel being laid on the rolling table. The graphite is rolled around the mandrel with pressure applied. The rolling table also has heat to assist in the rolling. To roll the top board holds steady and the bottom board moves back to cause a rolling of the pattern around the mandrel.

After rolling we attach the item number to the bottom of the blank. This is used to identify the blank at a later point in time.
