Frequently Asked Questions Cellophane is wrapped around the outside of the part to act as an outer mold. The picture on the right shows the cellophane being applied. The blank is than baked in the oven for the specified cure time dictated by the resin used. This temperature is usually around 250 degrees F. The baking brings the part from Stage B to a final cure. After baking, the part is pulled from the mandrel. This is done with the use of a pulling table. One end of the mandrel fits in the die to hold it still. Round dies fit around the mandrel and are forced against the blanks to pull it loose from the mandrel. Once the part is pulled from the mandrel, the cellophane is removed from the part. It is either unrolled or cut off the blank. Final Steps ----> |
